Paul Hayes and his son Andrew have run Kingsway Management Services since 2003 and following a visit from the Mid & East Lothian Chamber of Commerce they learnt about the Business Mentoring programme. Paul said “I realised that this was something that was going to help me and my company.” He was matched with Kevin Dorrian who has 25 years of PR and Marketing experience and felt that he had “Experience and an ability to take an overview of where a company is” and so offered his services to the Business Mentoring team at the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.

Hybrid Estates - David Wood

David Wood was not looking for a mentor but read about Business Mentoring in a Chamber of Commerce newsletter and decided to enquire, he explained that “it was a free service and I thought I would see if there was anyone who would be interested in listening to me as I felt the company had potential for growth.”

Vehicle Alliance UK Ltd (formerly known as Cheap UK Cars Ltd)- Conrad Kreil

Conrad is a Vehicle Broker, sourcing and organising finance for cars & vans for business customers such as Clyde Property and Currie European and for private clients for vehicles over £5,000. He also does some property development. After investing in some personal development training as well as seeking help for his business, Conrad heard about Business Mentoring at a networking event. He admitted that the “forms sat on my desk for a long time. As with many small businesses I did not really appreciate the value of this free service. Luckily the Chamber of Commerce rang me up and gave me an ultimatum that if I didn’t return them I would lose the opportunity, so they were sent that day!” He was introduced to Gordon Blair, a self made millionaire in the vehicle and property development world who had five years of Business Mentoring experience under his belt.
